NOTICE
At temperatures lower than −15° C (5° F), care should be taken when removing the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) line connectors that are attached to the tank, pump, and injector. To limit possible damage to the DEF line connectors, carefully apply heat to the area of the DEF line connectors.
NOTICE
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are con- tained during performance of inspection, mainte- nance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable contain- ers before opening any compartment or disassem- bling any component containing fluids.
Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
NOTICE
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.
Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
1. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF
position.
2. Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a
suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, “Cooling
System Coolant – Change” for the correct
procedure.
3. Remove diesel exhaust fluid line ( 1). Refer to
Disassembly and Assembly, “Diesel Exhaust Fluid Lines – Remove and Install” for the correct
procedure.
4. Use Tooling (A) to plug diesel exhaust fluid line (1) and cap the connection for the diesel exhaust fluid line.
5. Remove diesel exhaust fluid line (6). Refer to
Disassembly and Assembly, “Diesel Exhaust Fluid Lines – Remove and Install” for the correct
procedure.
6. Use Tooling (A) to plug diesel exhaust fluid line (6) and cap the connection for the diesel exhaust fluid line.
7. Remove the diesel exhaust fluid line from
connection (11). Refer toDisassembly and
Assembly, “Diesel Exhaust Fluid Lines – Remove and Install” for the correct procedure.
8. Use Tooling (A) to plug diesel exhaust fluid line
( 11) and cap the connection for the diesel exhaust fluid line.
9. Loosen hose clamp (2) for hose assembly (3).
10. Disconnect hose assembly (3) from manifold DEF heater. Disconnection (4) (not shown) from the
diesel exhaust fluid pump.
11. Loosen hose clamp (7) and hose clamp (9).
Disconnect hose assembly (8) from the manifold DEF heater and the diesel exhaust fluid pump.
12. Disconnect the hose assembly from connection (5). Refer to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for the correct procedure.
13. Use Tooling (A) to plug connection (5).
14. Remove solenoid valve ( 10). Refer to
Disassembly and Assembly, “Solenoid Valve (DEF Heater Coolant) – Remove and Install” for the
crrect procedure.
15. Remove bolt ( 14) and remove bracket (13).
16. Disconnected harness assembly (17) from the diesel exhaust fluid pump
17. Remove bolts ( 12), bolts (15), and bolts (17) from bracket (16).
18. Position bracket ( 18) away from the bracket for the diesel exhaust fluid pump.

19. Remove Allen head bolts ( 19) from cap (20). 20. Remove cap (20) from manifold (23).
21. Remove O-ring seal (21) (not shown) and O-ring seal (22) (not shown).
22. Remove bolts (24) from manifold (23).
23. Remove manifold (23) from the diesel exhaust fluid pump.
24. Use Tooling (A) to cap the connection on the diesel exhaust fluid pump.
25. Remove bolts (25) from diesel exhaust fluid pump (26). Support the weight of the diesel exhaust fluid pump as the bolts are removed.
26. Remove diesel exhaust fluid pump (26) from
bracket (27).
27. If necessary, remove filter (28) (not shown). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, “Diesel
Emission Fluid (DEF) Filter – Clean/Replace” for the correct procedure.
