Removing steps

begin:

A. If the engine is equipped with a fan, remove it. See Disassembly and Assembly, “Fan-Removing and Installation”,

To understand the right steps.

B. Remove the crankcase vent hole. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, “Crankcase respirator-Removing and installing” for correct steps

trot.

C. Remove the camshaft position sensor. For the correct steps, see Disassembly and Assembly, “Camshaft Position Sensor-Removing and Installation”.

D. Remove the crankshaft pulley. For the correct steps, see Disassembly and Assembly, “Crankshaft pulley-Removing and installing”.

1. Remove the bolts (1) from the front cover (3).

Note: Record the position of the bolts of different lengths.

2. Remove the front cover (3) from the front shell.

3. Remove the gasket (2) (not shown).

4. Remove the front oil seal of the crankshaft using the appropriate tools. During removing the front oil seal, ensure the front cover (3) is not damaged.

5. If necessary, follow steps 5.a to 5. C c to remove the crankcase pressure relief valve (5) from the front cover.

a . Remove the bolt (4) from the crankcase pressure relief valve (5).

b . Remove the crankcase pressure relief valve (5) from the front cover (3).

c. Remove the O-ring seal (6) from the crankcase pressure relief valve (5).

6. Remove the stud (7) from the front cover (3), if necessary.

Installation steps

1. If necessary, follow steps 1.a to 1. C c to install the crankcase pressure relief valve (5) to the front cover.

a. Install the O-ring seal (6) to the crankcase pressure relief valve (5).

b. Install the crankcase pressure relief valve (5) on the front cover (3).

c. Install the bolts (4) to the crankcase pressure relief valve (5). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 10 N-m (891b

in)。

2. If necessary, install the stud (7) on the front cover (3). Tighten the stud to a torque of 10 N-m (891b in)

3. Thoroughly clean the gasket surface of the front housing.

4. Ensure that all parts are clean and free from wear or damage. If necessary, replace all worn or damaged parts.

5. Install the tool (A) into the hole in the front housing position (X).

6. Position the new gas(2) on tool (A).

7. Position the front cover (3) on the tool (A).

8. Install the bolts (1) to the available position and tighten it manually.

9. Remove the tool (A) and install the remaining bolts (1).

10. Install the respirator drive (9) and install the nut (10) on the injection pump shaft (8).

11. Use the proper tools to keep the engine stationary. Tighten the nut (10) to a torque of 80 N·m (591 bft).

12. Install the tool (B) into the hole in the oil seal in front of the crankshaft.

13. Install the tool (C) into the hole of the crankcase respirator.

14. In two stages, tighten the bolts (1) in the order as shown in Figure 6.

Tighten the bolts to an initial torque of 8N-m (71 lb in).

Tighten the nuts to a final torque of 25 N-m (221 Ib in).

15. Remove the tools (B) and the tools (C).

16. Install the crankshaft front oil seal to the front cover. See Disassembly and Assembly, “Crankshaft front oil seal-Removing and installing” for the correct steps.

a. Install the crankcase vent hole. Refer to Disassembly and assembly, “Crankcase respirator-Removing and installing” for correct steps

trot.

b. Install the crankshaft pulley. For the correct steps, see Disassembly and Assembly, “Crankshaft pulley-Removing and installing”.

c. Install the camshaft position sensor. For the correct steps, see Disassembly and Assembly, “Camshaft Position Sensor Removing and Installation”.
