Removing steps
begin:
- Remove the alternator belt. See Disassembly and Assembly, “Alternator belt-Removing and installing” for the correct steps.

Typical example
- Remove the nut (1).
2 . Remove the fan (2).
Note: Record the orientation of the fan.
- Remove the fan adapter (3).
4 . Remove the fan pulley (4).
- If necessary, remove the stud (5) from the fan drive (6).
Installation steps
- Ensure that all parts are not worn or damaged. If necessary, replace all worn or damaged parts.
Typical example
- If necessary, install the studs (5) on the fan drive (6). Tighten the stud (5) to a torque of 11 N·m (97 lbin).
- If the stud (5) was previously removed from the fan driver (6), check that the fan drive stud is properly correctly.Tighten the double-head stud (5) to a torque of 25N-m (221 lbin).
4 . Install the fan pulley (4).
- Install the fan adapter (3).
- Install the fan (2).
Note: Make sure that the fan is oriented correctly.
- Check the condition of the locking nut (1). Replace the locking nut, if necessary. Install the lock nut (1). Tighten the locknut (1) to a torque of 22N-m (195 lb in).
