Perkins 2806F Engine Solenoid Valve (DEF Heater Coolant)-Remove and Install Guide
This article introduces Perkins 2806F Engine Solenoid Valve (DEF Heater Coolant)-Remove and Install
Removal Procedure:
NOTICE Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are con-
tained during performance of inspection, mainte-
nance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product.
Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable contain-
ers before opening any compartment or disasslem-
bling any component containing fluids.
Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
NOTICE:
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.
Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
1. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
2. Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, “Cooling System Coolant -Change”for the correct procedure.

3. Disconnect harness assembly (1) from solenoid valve (2).
4. Loosen clamp hoses (6). Disconnect hose assembly (5) from solenoid valve (2).
5. Loosen clamp hoses (3). Disconnect hose assembly (4) from solenoid valve (2).
6. Remove bolts (7) and remove solenoid valve (2) from bracket (9).
Note: Note the orientation of the solenoid valve.
7. If necessary, follow Step 2. bthrough Step 7.b in order to remove bracket (9).
a. Remove bolts (8) from bracket (9).
b. Remove bracket (9) from the Diesel Emission Fluid (DEF) tank assembly.
Installation Procedure

1. Ensure that all components are clean and free
from wear and damage. If necessary, replace any components that are worn or damaged.

2. If necessary, follow Step 2.a through Step 2.b in order to install bracket (9).
a. Position bracket (9) onto the DEF tank assembly.
b. Install bolts to bracket (9). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 9 N·m (80 lb in).
3. Position solenoid valve (2) to bracket (9). Ensure that the valve is correctly orientated.
4. Install bolts (4) to solenoid valve (2). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 9 N·m (80 lb in).
5. Connect hose assembly (5) to solenoid valve (2). Securely clamp hoses (6).
6. Connect hose assembly (4) to solenoid valve (2). Securely clamp hoses (3).
7. Connect harness assembly (1) to solenoid valve
8. Fill the cooling system with coolant. Refer to
Operation and Maintenance Manual, “Cooling
System Coolant – Change” for the correct
procedure.
9. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON
